No doubt we all agree that being able to interpret units of competency to determine what a learner has to do to perform competently in the workplace is vital in the development of compliant assessment tools.

We can see competence in the unit, can’t we?

Is it that clear that it’s contained in the Elements, Performance Criteria, Performance Evidence, Knowledge Evidence, Assessment Conditions, Foundation Skills and the Assessment Conditions? Or is the clarity a bit blurred by not necessarily knowing where to start in the unit?

Do I start with analysing the Performance Evidence that generally reflects me back to Performance Criteria and try to match them up? Or, do I make real sense of what the unit requires EVIDENCE OF by starting in the workplace where the skills and knowledge are actually used?

This webinar acknowledges our vocational competence and currency so why don’t we start with what the competency actually looks like in the workplace? We can then unveil the evidence we need and check it off against the unit – its not difficult looking at it this way and makes good practical sense.
